Why we created Element
Modern life doesn’t leave much room to recover.
We’re constantly connected, always busy, and rarely given permission to slow down. Stress, responsibilities, and endless notifications can make it difficult to truly rest and recharge.
We believe everyone deserves a place to step away from the noise—a place to recover, reconnect, and simply feel better.
That’s why we created Element.
Inspired by a different way of living
Our journey to Element began through years of teaching and practicing yoga at Dragonfly Yoga Studio in downtown Fredericksburg. Through movement, breath, and mindfulness, we saw firsthand how powerful intentional practices can be for supporting physical and mental well-being.
While stationed in Germany with the Marine Corps, we experienced something that changed the way we thought about recovery and wellness.
Sauna culture wasn’t about extremes or pushing harder. It was woven into everyday life. People gathered, slowed down, rested, and made time to care for themselves and one another. We returned home asking a simple question:
Why doesn’t Fredericksburg have a place like this?
Element was born from the desire to create a space that brings together traditional Finnish sauna culture, cold plunge, intentional rest, and meaningful connection.
Thoughtfully Designed. Deeply Rooted
Element blends centuries of Nordic bathing traditions with modern research and the principles of the Thermalist Method.
Every detail was intentionally designed to create an experience that feels welcoming, approachable, and restorative.
From our traditional Finnish saunas and multiple cold plunge temperatures to our phone-free environment and dedicated spaces for quiet reflection and conversation, Element was built to help people slow down and experience a true reset.
Whether you’re visiting for stress relief, recovery, better sleep, or simply an hour away from the demands of everyday life, we’re honored to be part of your wellness journey.
Meet the founders
Element is owned by husband-and-wife team Jesse and Anne Kemp.
Anne has been helping people move, breathe, and build healthier lives through Dragonfly Yoga Studio since 2018. Her passion for creating welcoming spaces and fostering community has shaped every aspect of the Element experience.
Jesse brings a background in military leadership, executive consulting, and a deep interest in the science and traditions surrounding heat and cold exposure. As a certified Thermalist Method instructor, he is passionate about helping people discover practical ways to support long-term health and resilience.
Together, we share a simple belief: Wellness doesn’t need to be complicated.
Sometimes, the most powerful practices are also the simplest. Heat. Cold. Rest. Connection.
We’d love to welcome you
Whether you’re visiting for stress relief, recovery, better sleep, or simply a break from the noise, we hope you’ll discover what so many of our guests have described as: “A vacation without leaving home.”
Your reset is waiting.
